Mold Damage


What to do in case of water damage and mold growth.


If you feel your home has gotten water damage you must act quickly to remedy the situation within 24-48 hours to prevent mold growth.

If you rent, please contact your landlord immediately if you suspect water damage.
Call your insurance company.

Call the EPA Indoor Quality Information Clearinghouse at 1-800-438-4318 for brochures on how to clean up mold and other mold related issues or log on to
www.Fema.gov
.

Consult with the Better Business Bureau for contractors and specialists who do mold clean up. Ask for references. Make sure they follow the EPA’s guidelines.

Mold growth can cause serious health problems. If you suspect that your home has mold, and/or you suspect that you are not feeling well because of mold, call your local Department of Health for advice. Many have environmental specialists who will provide information.
